  21. The term Shareware refers to a unique SOFTWARE DISTRIBUTION METHOD
  22. as opposed to a 'type' of software.
  23.  
  24. In the case of Shareware, an author grants permission to and even
  25. encourages the users of his software to freely copy and 'share'
  26. his software with other potential users. As a result, each user
  27. of the software becomes a point of distribution for the author.
  28.  
  29. In return, the user enjoys the benefit of trying the software at
  30. no cost for a period of time specified by the author. This trial
  31. period allows the user to evaluate the software and determine if
  32. it meets their needs. Immediately following this evaluation period,
  33. the user is required to either register and purchase the software
  34. or discontinue its use and delete it from their system.

  36. Registered Users play a vital role in ensuring the survival of the
  37. Shareware Concept. Authors who receive registration fees from their
  38. users can then use these fees to create and improve new, low cost

  81. If you like Bits'n Pieces and find it an entertaining way to 
  82. pass the time, you are encouraged to purchase the new Deluxe
  83. Version of Bits'n Pieces by sending a small registration fee.
  84. The registration fee amount can be found on the Order Form
  85. provided with Bits'n Pieces [Limited Version]

  87. Bits'n Pieces Deluxe comes with a range of extra goodies.
  88. These include:

  90. * OPEN by Search & Preview --
  91.   You will have the ability to search any drive/directory
  92.   path for .BMP files. You can search your entire system
  93.   for pictures that can be used as puzzles! This is very
  94.   convenient to those who want to find pictures installed
  95.   by other applications and don't want the hassles of 
  96.   looking for them manually. This feature also gathers the
  97.   file information of these .BMP files and displays it for
  98.   your convenience. This information is stored for later 
  99.   session use.
  100.   The Preview feature allows you to see a representation
  101.   of the picture before you open - Again, another 
  102.   convenient feature. It is very time consuming to open 
  103.   every file in hopes that it 'might' be a good puzzle.

  105. * HINT Feature --
  106.   The HINT feature allows you to get a little help from
  107.   your companion, Bits'n Pieces Deluxe itself! This quick
  108.   key asks Bits'n Pieces Deluxe to place a piece for you 
  109.   when you get to the point of 'tossing up your hands in
  110.   defeat'. This feature is especially handy when you have 
  111.   underestimated the complexity of the desired picture with
  112.   the number of pieces chosen - Don't give up and make 
  113.   another size selection, have Bits'n Pieces Deluxe place a
  114.   couple pieces for you so you can get back on track.

  116. * HELP TONE Feature --
  117.   This feature allows you the ability to know if a piece is
  118.   placed properly. You can toggle HELP TONE on and off as
  119.   needed. This is especially useful when you begin a puzzle.
  120.   Turn TONE on, place a piece, then turn it off and build
  121.   around that piece. This feature in combination with the
  122.   HINT feature will allow you to conquer ANY puzzle!

  124. * SAVE/LOAD GAME Feature --
  125.   This feature gives you the ability to save your puzzle in
  126.   an unfinished state for completion at a later time.
  127.   We all have had to walk away from a puzzle before it was 
  128.   completed due to unexpected interuptions. This feature
  129.   allows you to do so without giving up all the work you've
  130.   put into the puzzle.

  132. * SAVE SETTINGS Feature --
  133.   This feature allows you to customize and save the start up
  134.   settings to disk so that each time you run Bits'n Pieces
  135.   it will be customized to the options you like best.

  141. What do I get with my registration ?
  142. ------------------------------------
  143. * You will recieve Your Registration Code which will enable
  144.   all the Deluxe Features stated above. If the version you
  145.   have is not the latest version, you will also recieve Your
  146.   Registration Code for the latest version and info on where
  147.   to find the latest shareware version.
  148. * Time limit on puzzle completion will be removed.
  149. * All shareware-related presentation boxes will be removed.
  150. * Information on the latest version and features.

  152. How do I register ?
  153. -------------------
  154. * From Bits'n Pieces Main Menu - click 'Registration' then 
  155.   'Order' to load your Order Form.
  156. * Fill out form completely.
  157. * Click 'Send to...' button on Order Form for sending
  158.   instuctions.
  159. * Click 'Print' to print a copy of the Order Form. If you
  160.   cannot print then copy all information to a piece of paper.
  161.   BE SURE TO INCLUDE THE CONTROL CODE (upper right hand corner),
  162.   AND VERSION NUMBER (top center) from the Order Form. Your
  163.   order cannot be processed without these discriptions.
  164. * Payment must be by MONEY ORDER or CHECK ONLY.
  165. * Send Order Form and payment to address provided.
  166. * Your order will be processed immediately upon receipt.
